In the framework of the criminal case investigated in Vayots Dzor Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee the cause of the fire broken in Vayots Dzor region – at the area of Artavan village was found. Charge was pressed against one person.

Fire broke at the grassy areas of Artavan village of Vayots Dzor region on August 10 which spread on the following days involving some areas of Saravan forestry.

In the framework of the criminal case initiated according to the Part 2 of the Article 186 and the Part 1 of the Article 297 of RA Criminal Code in Vayots Dzor Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee investigatory actions of great volume were conducted. As a result, it was found that the fire was caused by the flames emitted from the car stub while operating a car out of order.  

Through preliminary investigation actual data were obtained on the allegation that the resident of Artavan community of Vayots Dzor region drove to the haymaking area of the same community in a car of «VAZ 21011» make without a plate number which had been out of order for about a month and was not subject to exploitation. In order to speed up to drive up he pressed the gas pedal intensively in the result of which flames were emitted from the broken stub of the car and fire broke. As a result, the haymaking area called «the first brigade» was burnt then the fire spread involving a part of haymaking areas of Zaritap community and 300 ha area of Saravan forestry of «Vayots Dzor Forestry» branch of «Hayantar» SNCO.  

On the base of the obtained sufficient evidence charge was pressed against the resident of Vayots Dzor region according to the Part 2 of the Article 186 and the Part 1 of the Article 297 of RA Criminal Code. Signature not to leave was chosen as a pretrial measure against the latter. An investigatory experimentation was conducted in his presence.

Preliminary investigation is ongoing. Examinations were commissioned.
