In the framework of the criminal case in the proceeding of the Investigative Division of Arabkir administrative district of Yerevan Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee charge was pressed for murder and assault committed in 1995; the person wanted for more than 21 years charged with grave crimes was found and brought to investigative body.
 

On January 28, 1995 at about 13:00 in one of the flats of 25/2 Komitas, Yerevan the body of the resident of the same flat, IRI citizen, Armenian by nationality Hayk Abrahamyan with traces of violent death was found. On the same day a criminal case was initiated according to the Part 1 and 7 of the Article 99 and the Part 2 of the Article 88 of the RA former Criminal Code by Prosecution Office of Arabkir district.
 

Through investigation circumstances of murder, as well as the frame of those having committed the apparent crime were found. According to investigation data, getting informed that coming to Yerevan from Iran H. Abrahamyan had brought with him money in large amount several friends reached an agreement to kill him and possess his property.
 

Through investigation the way of murder was found; first they treated him with poisoned beer then strangled him, after the murder they swindled several things and escaped.   
 

Through preliminary investigation the frame of those having committed the apparent crime was clarified, their actions were personalized. On the base of the obtained evidence 5 persons were involved as a defendant, charge was pressed against three of them according to several articles of the RA former Criminal Code and the criminal cases were sent to court. Search was declared against two more defendants and operative-searching measures were ongoing to find them.
 

After the adoption of the RA new criminal code the investigative body made a decision to change the decisions on involving the wanted A. Petrosyan and G. Safaryan as a defendant made on February 7, 1995 and to involve them as a defendant according to the Points 8 and 11 of the Part 2 of the Article 104, the Point 1, 2, 3 and 4 of the Part 2 of the Article 175 of RA Criminal Code put into action on August 1, 2003.  
 

G. Safaryan, who had been under persecution for over 21 years, was found and on December 23, 2016 was brought to the Investigative Division of Arabkir administrative district of Yerevan Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee. On the same day a decision was made to reopen the suspended proceeding of the criminal case.   
 

On the base of the obtained sufficient evidence in the Investigative Division of Arabkir administrative district charge was pressed against G. Safaryan according to the Points 8 and 11 of the Part 2 of the Article 104 and the Points 1, 2, 3 and 4 of the Part 2 of the Article 175 of RA Criminal Code. On the same day a motion was submitted to court to reconfirm the detention as a pretrial measure against him.
 

 Note; Everyone charged with alleged crime offence shall be presumed innocent until proved guilty according to law.
