Circumstances of Death of Resident of Areguni Village Found out; Fellow Villager Arrested
In the result of necessary investigatory actions conducted in Vardenis Investigative Division of Gegharkunik Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee circumstances of death of the resident of Areguni village of Gegharkunik province were found out. The latter’s fellow villager was arrested.
On February 22, 2019 at 20:55 a call was received in the Police Division of Vardenis from Vardenis Hospital informing that on the same day at 19:05 a resident of Areguni village of Gegharkunik province, born in 1980, with diagnoses of “skull base fracture, generic shock” was taken to hospital.
On the same day another resident of the same village, born in 1992, submitted a report in the Police Division of Vardenis informing that on February 22, 2019 at about 18:30 he met his fellow villager in the village. The latter greeted him and hit him on the shoulder with a fist. The latter tried to call him to order but the 38 year-old man scolded after which he hit him on the head with a wood. As a result, the man fell down to the ground.
In the result of measures taken within the criminal case it was found out that the 38 year-old resident of Areguni village sustained the mentioned bodily injury during the argument with his fellow villager which took place in front of the shop during which with the purpose of inflicting heavy bodily damage to health 26 year-old young man hit the fellow villager on the head with a wood inflicting heavy bodily damage dangerous for life. On the next day – on February 23 at about 14:15 the 38 year-old resident of Areguni village died of the injuries he had sustained.
A criminal case was initiated in the RA IC Gegharkunik Regional Investigative Department according to the Point 14 of the Part 2 of the Article 112 of RA Criminal Code.
26 year-old resident of Areguni village was arrested on suspicion of committing the above-mentioned crime.
Preliminary investigation is ongoing. Necessary investigatory and other procedural actions are conducted to provide the comprehensive, complete and objective investigation of the case.
Note; Everyone charged with alleged crime offence shall be presumed innocent until proved guilty according to law.
