Investigation is conducted in Vayots Dzor Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee to find out circumstances of abuse of official authorities as well as apparent squandering committed by the former head of Gndevaz community.

Data were obtained that the former head of Gndevaz being an official, gave money from the community budget for renovation of culture house of the same community, acquired necessary furniture, tableware and accessories after which from autumn, 2016 to January, 2019 significant amount of money received from the paid events organized in the hall of the culture house was not paid to the community budget but it was squandered.

It was earlier informed that being aware that the CJSC was interested in buying lands, abusing his official authorities, using official position against community interests, being the head of body organizing auction of land alienation on May 29, 2014 the community head sold by auction pasture land of 9.91 ha to his son for 410.130 AMD. On May 26, 2015 the latter sold the mentioned land for incomparably expensive price – 147. 300. 838 AMD to the mentioned CJSC causing significant damage to the community.

During preliminary investigation 70.000.000 AMD in total out of the damage caused to the community has been recovered.

On August 19, 2019 a new criminal case was initiated on squandering according to the Point 1 of the Part 2 of the Article 179 of RA Criminal Code which was joint to the criminal case investigated on abusing official authorities by the former head of the same community.

Preliminary investigation is ongoing. Necessary investigatory actions are conducted to provide the comprehensive, complete and objective investigation of circumstances of the case, to find all those possibly related to abuses and to personalize their actions, as well as to verify initial data on possible abuses within other deals.
