The criminal case initiated on apparent swindling committed by the director of “A and R Tour” tourist agency was received in the proceeding of the Division of Investigation of Grave Crimes of Yerevan Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee.

On July 25, 2019 information was published that about 100 RA citizens were in Hurgada due to failure of Hurgada-Yerevan flight N OTF3703.  

Through materials prepared on the base of publications it was found out that under the pretext of organizing rest in seaside cities of Sharm El Sheikh and Hurgada, Egypt from the beginning of 2019 to July the director of “A and R Tour” tourist agency  collected numerous customers and organized transportation of a part of them to the mentioned cities.

Pursuant to initial data, the mentioned tourist agency abusing the confidence of customers and representatives of tourist agencies received money for organizing transportation. However, the significant part of it was not transferred to the charter airline company cooperating with the agency thus money in particularly large amount was swindled from numerous citizens.

As a result, airline transportation of RA citizens was carried out by the RA Government.

Considering that in the prepared materials there is a legal base to initiate a criminal case, in the Department of Counteracting Corruption-Related and Economic-Related Crimes of General Department of Fight against Organized Crime of the RA Police a criminal case was initiated according to the Point 1 of the Part 3 of the Article 178 of RA Criminal Code. The criminal case was sent to the Division of Investigation of Grave Crimes of Yerevan Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee for conduction of preliminary investigation and was received in the proceeding.

Preliminary investigation is conducted. Further information about its process will periodically be provided.
