Investigation is conducted in the Division of Investigation of Grave Crimes of Yerevan Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee to find out circumstances of hindrance to legal professional activities of the reporter of “Azatutyun” information center.

Pursuant to initial data, on February 23, 2021 at the crossroad of Tumanyan-Sayat-Nova and Tumanyan-Abovyan streets a group of people taking part in the meeting attacked the operator and reporter of “Azatutyun” information center, hit them as well as damaged the camera. As a result, the latters could not cover the events thus their legal professional activity was hindered.

A criminal case was initiated in Central Police Division according to the Part 1 of the Article 164 (hindrance to the legal professional activities of a journalist) of RA Criminal Code which on March 2, 2021 was sent to the RA Investigative Committee.

Preliminary investigation is conducted.

Note; Everyone charged with alleged crime offence shall be presumed innocent until proved guilty according to law.
