Defendant’s father charged with contemptuous treatment to court at the court session on a murder case

Preliminary investigation of the criminal case initiated on contemptuous treatment to the Court of First Instance of Lori was completed in Lori Regional Investigative Department of RA Investigative Committee.
 

A written report was received from the judge of the Court of First Instance of Lori Aghasi Mkoyan on contemptuous treatment to court displayed by defendant’s father during the trial of the criminal case initiated according to the Part 1 of the Article 104 of RA Criminal Code which was expressed in the insult of the judge with respect to the execution of official duties of the latter.
 

During preliminary investigation of the criminal case initiated in Lori Regional Investigative Department it was found that on March 31, 2015 by the verdict of the Court of First Instance of Lori the citizen T. Meliqyan was sentenced to 10 years in prison for murder of fellow citizen T. Matevosyan committed on May 15, 2013 in Vanadzor.
 

The trial of the mentioned criminal case was held in Vanadzor residence of the Court of First Instance of Lori at the open court session headed by the judge of the same court Aghasi Mkoyan.
 

The defendant’s father – surgeon N. Meliqyan also took part in court sessions against whom judicial sanction had been used by the court for several times for displaying inappropriate behavior.  
 

On March 20, 2015 at about 13.00 at the trial on the same case at the session hall N 3 of Vanadzor residence of the Court of First Instance of Lori immediately after a break had been announced by the judge Aghasi Mkoyan, N. Meliqyan displayed contemptuous attitude to court which was expressed in insulting and scolding the judge with respect to the execution of official duties of the latter.
 

On the base of the evidence obtained during pretrial proceeding N. Meliqyan was charged according to the Part 2 of the Article 343 of RA Criminal Code. Signature not to leave was chosen as a pretrial measure against him.
 

The criminal case with the bill of indictment was sent to the prosecutor supervising the legality of preliminary investigation. The bill of indictment was confirmed and the case was sent to the Court of First Instance of Lori.
 

Note; Everyone charged with alleged crime offence shall be presumed innocent until proved guilty according to law.
