In the result of large-scale investigative and other procedural actions conducted in the Investigative Division of Shengavit administrative district of Yerevan Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee it was found out that 29 year-old woman, being pregnant in spring 2018, deiced with her mother to sell the baby. For this purpose the mother phoned 45 year-old resident of Yerevan who had inserted an announcement about looking for a "surrogate" mother, told her that her daughter was pregnant but she was going to abandon the baby after she was born and offered her to adopt the baby for 1.200.000 AMD.   

The resident of Yerevan, reaching agreement with 29 year-old woman and her mother, took the pregnant woman to several medical centers for examination and registered her at Shengavit medical center. On August 20, 2018 the latter gave birth to a baby girl but she told her husband that the baby had died during the birth.

After it on August 23, 2018, under the guidance of the lawyer of the resident of Yerevan, 29 year-old woman with 45 year-old woman’s husband went to Territorial Subdivision of Marriage Chamber of Civil Registration Agency of the RA Ministry of Justice and for recognition of paternity of her daughter she provided false information as if the man was the baby’s father.

Then to ensure the process of false adoption, on August 29, again under the guidance of the lawyer, the spouses and 29 year-old woman went to Notary office, where the latter and 45 year-old woman’s husband, introducing themselves as baby’s parents, gave their agreement to 45 year-old woman so that she could adopt the baby. 29 year-old woman and her mother in parts received 1.200.000 AMD in total in cash and by bank transfers.

However, the baby’s father and the latter’s mother, learning about what had happened, took the baby back.

On the base of the obtained sufficient evidence charge was pressed against 29 year-old woman, her mother and the spouses according to the Point 4 of the Part 2 of the Article 34-168 of RA Criminal Code. Charge was pressed against the lawyer according to the Point 4 of the Part 2 of the Article 38-34-168 of RA Criminal Code. Signature not to leave was chosen as a pretrial measure against them.

Preliminary investigation was completed and the criminal case with the bill of indictment was sent to court.
