Charges pressed in the framework of the criminal case initiated on buying and selling of newborn baby
Preliminary investigation of the criminal case initiated on buying and selling a newborn baby committed in April, 2016 is ongoing in General Department of Investigation of Particularly Important Cases of the RA Investigative Committee.
Through preliminary investigation it was found that trafficking of the newborn baby was organized by health care workers through false documents.
On the base of the obtained evidence charge was pressed against doctor of medical center N of Yerevan Karine Antonyan according to the Part 1 of the Article 38-168 of RA Criminal Code (organizing trafficking of a child to set about the care) and the Part 1 of the Article 325 of RA Criminal Code (forgery of official documents which grant rights). Nurse Goharik Khachatryan was charged according to the Part 1 of the Article 38-168 (organizing trafficking of a child to set about the care) and the Part 1 of the Article 38-325 of RA Criminal Code (supporting to forgery of official documents which grant rights). The investigator submitted a motion to the court to use detention as a pretrial measure against them. The motion was sufficed.
Newborn baby’s mother was charged according to the Part 1 of the Article 168 of RA Criminal Code (trafficking of a child to entrust care), signature not to leave was chosen as a pretrial measure against her.
Preliminary investigation is ongoing.
