In the First Term of 2023 220 Proceedings on Crimes Committed by Minors and 699 Proceedings on Crimes Committed against Minors Investigated in the RA Investigative Committee; Summing up
The general progress of criminal proceedings on crimes committed by minors, as well as against minors in the first term of 2023 has been summed up in the RA Investigative Committee.
Pursuant to it, in the first term of 2023 220 criminal proceedings on crimes committed by minors have been investigated in the subdivisions of the RA Investigative Committee.
24 of the mentioned proceedings have been completed with the bill of indictment and on 33 minors have been sent to court. 60 criminal proceedings have been terminated 36 of which on rehabilitative and 24 on non-rehabilitative basis. Procedural and evidentiary actions within 23 proceedings have been completed, preliminary investigation of 106 proceedings is ongoing.
1 of the proceedings sent to court has been on murder, 5 on infliction of heavy bodily damage, 1 on robbery, 6 on theft, 2 on hooliganism, 1 regarding weapon, 3 regarding narcotic drugs, 5 on other crimes.
On non-rehabilitative basis, a decision was made not to conduct criminal prosecution or terminate it against 33 minors.
In the same period 699 criminal proceedings on crimes committed against minors have been investigated in the RA Investigative Committee. 203 of them have been terminated 179 of which have been on rehabilitative, 24 on non-rehabilitative basis.
Preliminary investigation of 36 proceedings has been completed with the bill of indictment and on 35 persons sent to court. Procedural and evidentiary actions within 100 proceedings have been completed, 340 criminal proceedings have passed to the second term of 2023.
3 of the proceedings sent to court have been on infliction of heavy bodily damage, 2 on kidnapping, 7 on violent sexual acts, 24 on other crimes.
16 of 35 defendants within criminal proceedings sent to court have been family members of the minor victim, 3 - guardian, trustee, 1 - employee of a medical institution. The remaining 15 cases have been committed by other persons.
24 of 44 victims within criminal proceedings sent to court have been up to 12, 7 – between 12 and 14, 10 – between 14 and 16, 3 – between 16 and 18 years old.
