Money in particularly large amount from tuition fees paid by students studying at paid system of Yerevan State University swindled

In the result of investigatory actions conducted in General Department of Investigation of Particularly Important Cases of the RA Investigative Committee numerous cases of swindling money from tuition fees paid by the students studying at paid system of Yerevan State University were revealed. Through investigation sufficient evidence were obtained on the allegation that swindling was committed from 2008 to 2012 which caused damage in particularly large amount – more than 99 million AMD, mechanism of swindling was found.
 

According to preliminary investigation data, some of the students studying at paid system of “Yerevan State University” SNCO paid tuition fees and senior accountants of SNCO were in charge of receiving and transferring the money to the cashbox.
 

Particularly, residents of Yerevan, senior accountants K. Sargsyan and R. Vardanyan have been responsible for collecting the money of tuition fees and transferring to the cashbox since 2006 and 2008, respectively.  
 

According to the actual data, senior accountants receiving the money of tuition fees from the students studying at paid system of the university made and gave them payment receipts. However they did not enter the collected money to the university cashbox and by squandering swindled the money in particularly large amount entrusted to them.  
 

Entries on payment of tuition fees were not made in entry orders and tuition bulletins attached to them, cash register receipts were not typed, but in order to cover the swindling the data of those students were entered to the students’ database of Yerevan State University as students having paid their tuition fees.
 

In the result of investigatory actions of great volume sufficient evidence were obtained on swindling tuition fees paid by 468 students committed by K. Sargsyan, 158 students committed by R. Vardanyan from 2008 to 2012; the damage caused is 71.914.895 and 27.514.830 million AMD, respectively.
 

On the base of the obtained evidence charge was pressed against senior accountants according to the Point 1 of the Part 3 of the Article 179 of RA Criminal Code.
 

The criminal case with the bill of indictment was sent to court.
