In the result of urgent investigatory actions conducted within the criminal case investigated in the Investigative Division of Qanaqer-Zeytun administrative districts of Yerevan Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee circumstances of 23 year-old young man’s murder as well as murder attempt committed against two 26 year-old men were found out. The person having committed the alleged crime was detained.

It was earlier informed that on April 15, 2019 two men, born in 1993 and 1996, with firearm injuries were taken to «Mikayelyan Institute of Surgery» CJSC. The young man, born in 1996, died in hospital of bodily injuries he had sustained. On the same day another young man, born in 1993, with firearm injury was taken to “Qanaqe-Zeytun” medical center.

In the result of necessary investigatory actions and operative-intelligence measures taken within the criminal case initiated in the Investigative Division of Qanaqer-Zeytun administrative districts of Yerevan Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee it was found out that the young men had sustained the bodily injuries in Lepsius Street of Yerevan, the person having committed the alleged crime was identified; he is a resident of Yerevan, born in 1996.

On the base of the obtained evidence on April 26, 2019 23 year-old young man was involved as a defendant according to the Point of the Part 2 of the Article 34-104 and the Part 1 of the Article 235 of RA Criminal Code, detention was chosen as a pretrial measure against him and search was declared.

In the result of operative-searching measures on May 23 the latter was found. Charge was pressed against him according to the Point 1 of the Part 2 of the Article 34-104 and the Part 1 of the Article 235 of RA Criminal Code. Detention chosen as a pretrial measure against him was reconfirmed by court.

Preliminary investigation is ongoing. Measures are taken to provide the comprehensive, complete and objective investigation of circumstances of the case, to find others possibly related to the incident and to give appropriate criminal legal assessment to their actions.

Note; Everyone charged with alleged crime offence shall be presumed innocent until proved guilty according to law.
