Investigation Conducted to Find out Circumstances of Incident that Took Place in Yerevan
A criminal case was initiated in the Investigative Division of Qanaqer-Zeytun administrative district of Yerevan Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee on illegal keeping of weapon, murder and murder attempt.
On April 15, 2019 a call was received from «Mikayelyan Institute of Surgery» CJSC informing that two young men, born in 1993 and 1996, with firearm injuries were taken to hospital. The young man, born in 1996, died in hospital of bodily injuries he had sustained.
On the same day a call was received from «Qanaqer-Zeytun» medical center informing that the young man, born in 1993, with firearm injury was taken to medical center.
A criminal case was initiated in the Investigative Division of Qanaqer-Zeytun administrative district of Yerevan Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee according to the Point 1 of the Part 2 of the Article 34-104, the Part 1 of the Article 104, the Part 1 of the Article 235 and the Part 4 of the Article 258 of RA Criminal Code.
In the result of urgent investigatory actions, operative-intelligence measures it was found out that the young men had sustained the bodily injuries in Lepsius Street, Yerevan where the person having committed the alleged crime fired shots towards them.
In the result of necessary measures taken within the criminal case the car of «BMW» make, in which the three young men were at the moment the shots were fired, was found.
Through inspection of the scene capsules, a ball, blood like traces were found, samples were taken. A number of forensic examinations were commissioned to find out circumstances significant for the criminal case, confiscations, interrogations were conducted.
Preliminary investigation is ongoing. Measures are taken to find out all circumstances of the case, to identify the person (persons) having committed the alleged crime.
Additional information about new circumstances of the case will be provided.
Note; Everyone charged with alleged crime offence shall be presumed innocent until proved guilty according to law.
