Preliminary investigation of criminal case initiated on murder of resident of Geghamasar village Sh. Gyulumyan completed; charge pressed against two persons
Preliminary investigation of the criminal case initiated on murder of the resident of the village of Geghamasar Sh. Gyulumyan was completed in Vardenis Investigative Division of Gegharquniq Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee.
It was earlier informed that on February 23 a call was received informing that the resident of the village of Geghamasar Shushanik Gyulumyan (born in 1943) died in the result of falling off the roof. The investigatory-operative group together with experts immediately left for the site.
In the result of investigatory actions it was found that the woman’s death had been caused not in the result of accident but violence used against her.
Through inspection of the body damages were found on her head and neck; according to the death certificate N 17 Sh. Gyulumyan’s death was directly caused by mechanical asphyxia.
A criminal case was initiated in Vardenis Investigative Division of Gegharquniq Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee on murder and in the result of urgent investigatory actions a number of circumstances of the case were found; the persons having committed the apparent crime were identified, the way the crime had been committed was found.
Through preliminary investigation it was grounded that on February 23, 2016 two young men, with intend to kill Sh. Gyulumyan, visited the woman under the pretext of checking the TV digitalization device. The woman and the young men went to the roof under the pretext of repairing the antenna cable where one of the young men attempted to suffocate her with the rope he had taken with him, the other young man hit the woman on her head with a metal bar. Thinking Sh. Gyulumyan died the young men went down, entered the house and swindled golden jewelry. Leaving the house they noticed that the woman was alive and was calling for help. One of the them hit the woman on the head with a brick tile then took her home and killed her by suffocating.
On the base of the evidence obtained during pretrial proceeding charge was pressed against two young men according to the Points 7 and 8 of the Part 2 of the Article 104 of RA Criminal Code and detention was chosen as a pretrial measure against them.
The criminal case with the bill of indictment was sent to court.
