Preliminary investigation of the criminal case initiated on murder of the resident of Nerqin Karmiraghbyur village of Tavush region was completed in the Sixth Garrison Investigative Unit of General Military Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee.

On August 17, 2017 at 15:10 a call was received informing that there was a burnt out car in the field called “Chngi” of Nerqin Karmiraghbyur village.

Through inspection of the site a car of “VAZ-2106” make rolled over the canyon, burnt out was found on the 4^th km of Nerqin Karmiraghbyur-Paravakar road with a burnt body in it.  

In the result of investigatory and operative-intelligence joint actions the body was identified; he was a resident of the village of Nerqin Karmiraghbyur of Tavush region Vardan Grigoryan, a contractor, born in 1985 and sufficient evidence were obtained on the allegation that the latter had been murdered.

Through comprehensive investigation the motive and mechanism of murder were found out, the person having committed the alleged crime was identified, he is also a resident of the village of Nerqin Karmiraghbyur of Tavush region, born in 1980.

Through preliminary investigation on August 16, 2017 the fellow villagers took part in dinner party after which from 21:00 to 23:00 the 38 year-old resident of Tavush region, being under the influence of alcohol, out of revenge and jealousy argued with the fellow villager and hit him for numerous times on several parts of his face and head. Then he took the unconscious man into the car of “VAZ-2106” make and drove towards Nerqin Karmiraghbyur-Paravakar road where he rolled the car over the canyon on the fourth km of the road with the purpose of creating accident imitation. Then he approached the car, threw the burning cigarette box into the car and burnt it. Pursuant to investigation data, while the car was burning the man was still alive.

On the base of sufficient evidence obtained during pretrial proceeding charge was pressed against 38 year-old man according to the Point 5 of the Part 2 of the Article 104 and the Point 1 of the Part 2 of the Article 185 of RA Criminal Code and detention was chosen as a pretrial measure against him.

The criminal case with the bill of indictment was sent to prosecutor supervising the legality of preliminary investigation.

Note; Everyone charged with alleged crime offence shall be presumed innocent until proved guilty according to law.
