On 30 July, 2020 at 07:40 a call was received from the resident of Lichq village informing that fellow-villager had fired towards her husband.

The investigatory-operative group immediately left for the scene.

Pursuant to initial data, for the reason of disagreement on personal matters with 61 year-old fellow-villager, on 30 July, 2020 at about 07:30 83 year-old resident of Lichq village of Gegharkunik province fired shots with a hunting gun towards 61 year-old man. However, he could not complete the crime under unforeseen circumstances.  

A criminal case was initiated in Martuni Investigative Division of Gegharkunik Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee according to the Part 1 of the Article 34-104 (murder attempt) of RA Criminal Code. 61 year-old man was found the injured party.

83 year-old resident of Lichq was arrested on suspicion of committing murder attempt.

During preliminary investigation a number of investigatory actions were conducted, forensic medical and forensic ballistic examinations were commissioned.

Preliminary investigation is ongoing.

Measures are taken to provide the objective, complete and comprehensive investigation of circumstances of the case.
