A criminal case was initiated in the Investigative Division of Qanaqer-Zeytun administrative district of Yerevan Investigative Department of RA Investigative Committee on murder of two persons in K. Ulnetsi Street.

On July 29 at 18:55 a call was received informing that shots were fired at the building 30, K. Ulnetsi-Babayan and spouses were on the ground.

The investigatory-operative group left for the scene immediately. It was found that the person having committed the apparent crime fired shots in the direction of the residents of the house 30, K. Ulnetsi Street, Hovhannes Mkhitaryan and his wife Lusine Mkhitaryan who died of firearm injuries.

A criminal case was initiated in the Investigative Division of Qanaqer-Zeytun administrative district of Yerevan Investigative Department of RA Investigative Committee according to the Points 1 and 6 of the Part 2 of the Article 104 of RA Criminal Code (Murder of two or more persons committed in a way dangerous for the life of many people) and according to the Part 1 of the Article 235 of RA Criminal Code (Illegal procurement, transportation, keeping or carrying of weapons, explosives or explosive devices).

Preliminary investigation is ongoing. Working hypotheses were developed and investigation is conducted to examine them.

Measures are taken to provide the comprehensive and complete examination of the case, as well as to identify the person having committed the apparent crime.
