Suspected of voting instead of another person
In the framework of the criminal case investigated in the Investigative Division of Kentron and Norq-Marash administrative districts of Yerevan Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee on voting instead of another person in polling station N 9/53 one person was involved as a suspect.
Pursuant to preliminary investigation data, on April 2 at about 13:00 G. Simonyan, born in 1987, together with his brother D. Simonyan went to polling station N 9/53 to take part in RA NA elections. There it was found that D. Simonyan had not taken his passport with him and took part in voting through his brother’s passport after which he gave the passport to his brother. Then brother entered the polling station with the same passport and approached to register during which it was recorded that voting had already been conducted with the mentioned passport.
A criminal case was initiated according to the Article 153 of RA Criminal Code preliminary investigation of which is conducted in the Investigative Division of Kentron and Norq-Marash administrative districts of Yerevan Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee.
During preliminary investigation the videos of the mentioned day captured by the cameras located in the mentioned polling station were received and inspected.
On the base of actual data D. Simonyan was involved as a suspect and signature not to leave was used as a pretrial measure against him.
Note; Everyone charged with alleged crime offence shall be presumed innocent until proved guilty according to law.
