The resident of Lori region charged with false crime reporting on being kidnapped

Preliminary investigation of the criminal case initiated on false crime reporting by the resident of Lori region on being kidnapped was completed in Lori Regional Investigative Department of RA Investigative Committee.

Through preliminary investigation it was found that in December, 2014 the resident of Lori region got acquainted with the resident of town Stepanavan, Maleryan and had close relations with him.

On January 2, 2015 through mutual agreement they left for Stepanavan in the car of Maleryan’s friend. They spent the night in Stepanavan.

Through the investigation it was found that during the conversation that took place in the flat the girl told about her previous relations then Maleryan told her that he did not want to marry her any more and took her to her native village in his friend’s car.

Some days later – on January 5, 2015 the woman went to police station of Tashir, where being warned of consequences of false crime reporting in the order defined by law, she submitted a written report telling that on January 2 she had allegedly been kidnapped for marriage by two residents of Stepanavan by using violence and was taken to Stepanavan where she was kept for a day against her will, thus accusing them of grave crime.

On the base of evidence obtained during pretrial proceeding, on February 16, 2015 the resident of Lori was charged according to the Point 1 of the Part 2 of the Article 333 of RA Criminal Code.

On March 12 the mentioned criminal case with the bill of indictment was sent to the prosecutor supervising the legality of preliminary investigation. The bill of indictment was confirmed and sent to the Court of First Instance of Lori.
