28 Year-Old Resident of Yeghegnadzor Arrested on Suspicion of Inflicting Officer Heavy Bodily Damage
In the result of necessary investigatory and other procedural actions conducted in Vayots Dzor Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee a number of circumstances of inflicting heavy bodily damage to the officer of a military unit of RA Ministry of Defense. One person was arrested.
On September 18, 2019 at 00:20 a call was received from “Yeghegnadzor Medical Center” CJSC informing that a resident of Shirak province, an officer of RA Ministry of Defense, unconscious, was taken to medical center.
On September 18, 2019 a writ was received from Central Clinical Hospital of RA Ministry of Defense informing that on the same day at 06:40 the mentioned officer with heavy bodily injury was accepted in the hospital. He was urgently operated and was in critical condition.
In the result of necessary measures it was found out that the officer had sustained the bodily injury on September 17, 2019 at about 23:40 during the argument on getting clarifications in the yard of one of the houses in Yeghegnadzor town. The person having committed the alleged crime, who is a resident of Yeghegnadzor, born in 1991, punched the officer once on the head. As a result, the latter fell down.
A criminal case was initiated in Yeghegnadzor Police Division according to the Part 1 of the Article 112 of RA Criminal Code preliminary investigation of which is conducted in Vayotz Dzor Regional Investigative Department.
Through preliminary investigation it was found out that besides the above mentioned officer two more officers also sustained bodily injuries. During the argument in the yard of one of the houses in Arsenyan Street of Yeghegnadzor town 3 – 4 persons, who had been called by 28 year-old resident of Yeghegnadzor to arrive for help, tried to get clarifications which turned into brawl during which they beat the officers.
28 year-old young man was arrested.
Preliminary investigation is ongoing. Necessary measures are taken to provide the comprehensive, complete and objective investigation of circumstances of the case, to find others involved in the argument, to personalize their actions and to give them appropriate criminal-legal assessment.
Note; Everyone charged with alleged crime offence shall be presumed innocent until proved guilty according to law.
