On April 11, 2021 at 02:30 a call was received from “Abovyan” medical center in Kotayk Police Division informing that 19 year-old resident of Abovyan town with firearm injuries was taken to them.

In the result of taken measures it was found out that on April 11, 2021 at about 01:40 in Hanrapetutyan Street, Abovyan the person having committed the alleged crime getting out of the car of “BMW” make driven by him, for the purpose of depriving 19 year-old young man of life, fired two shots towards the latter from a hunting gun. However, under unforeseen circumstances he could not complete the crime as the young man was taken to medical center where his life was saved.

A criminal case was initiated in Abovyan Investigative Division of Kotayk Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee according to the Part 1 of the Article 34-104 (murder attempt) of RA Criminal Code.

Inspection of the scene was conducted during which a plastic container of the capsule shot from the hunting gun was found. The hunting gun was also found and confiscated.

In the result of urgent investigative and procedural actions conducted within the criminal case the person having committed the alleged crime was identified; he is a resident of Kotayk province, born in 1992. The latter turned himself to the investigative body and was arrested.

A number of people were questioned, confiscations were conducted, forensic medical and forensic ballistic examinations were commissioned.

Preliminary investigation is ongoing.
