On 1 August, 2021 at 01:25 a call was received from a citizen informing that stabbing had been committed in one of the houses in Nor Artamet community. On the same day at 01:30 a call was received from medical centers informing that two persons had been taken to them.

In the result of taken measures those having received injuries were identified; one of them is a member of Yerevan City Council Arman Antonyan, the other is the latter’s father – a resident of the village of Nor Artamet.

Pursuant to initial data, on 1 August, 2021 at about 01:00 two masked persons illegally entered A. Antonyan’s apartment located in Nor Artamet community, attacked him and stabbed him on vital organs with a cutting-piercing and blunt item causing cut-pierced bodily injuries on the chest and abdomen then tried to flee. However, facing the resistance of A. Antonyan’s 87 year-old grandfather one of those having committed the alleged crime stabbed the old man, as well causing bodily injuries after which they fled.

A criminal case was initiated in Nairi Investigative Division of Kotayk Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee according to the Article 118, the Part 1 of the Article 147 and the Point 7 of the Part 2 of the Article 34-104 of RA Criminal Code.

Urgent investigative actions were conducted – inspection of the scene, a number of people were questioned, the videos captured by the security cameras were confiscated, forensic medical examination was commissioned.

Preliminary investigation is ongoing. Measures are taken to find out all circumstances of the case, to identify those having committed the alleged crime, to find and bring them to the investigative body.
