30 year-old man inflicted fatal bodily damage at a party, investigation conducted


A criminal case was initiated in Aragatsotn Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee on death of 30 year-old S. Harutyunyan. Necessary investigatory and other procedural actions are conducted to find all the circumstances of the case.

On October 24, 2015 at 21:45 Police Station of Ashtarak received a call from “Ashtarak Medical Center” CJSC informing that a body of a man of about 30 with a cut-pierced wound on the chest – at the area of heart was taken to the medical center.

The investigatory-operative group headed by the investigator immediately left for “Ashtarak Medical Center” CJSC. The dead man was identified;, he was the 30 year-old resident of Ashtarak town, S. Harutyunyan.

A criminal case was initiated in Aragatsotn Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee according to the Part 1 of the Article 104 of RA Criminal Code.

According to preliminary investigation data bodily damage had been inflicted to the man with a cutting-piercing object at a party in one of the gardens located in Ashtarak town.

Through investigation the participants of the party were found, identified and interrogated. According to initial data four persons were present at the party – S. Harutyunyan, his friend and two girls. The injured man’s friend had tried to provide first medical aid to him then took him to hospital.

Inspections of the site and the body were conducted, samples were taken. The knife which was the tool of the crime was found by the police officers and presented to the investigative body.

Necessary investigatory actions are conducted to provide the comprehensive, objective and complete investigation of the case, as well as to find the circumstances of infliction of bodily damage to S. Harutyunyan.

Forensic medical, forensic biological and forensic traceological examinations were commissioned to find circumstances significant for the case.

Note; Everyone charged with alleged crime offence shall be presumed innocent until proved guilty according to law.
