Preliminary investigation of the criminal case initiated on apparent abuses found in municipality of Vagharshapat (Ejmiatsin) is ongoing in the Department of Investigation of General and Election-Related Crimes of General Department of Investigation of Particularly Important Cases of the RA Investigative Committee. During preliminary investigation about 26.000.000 AMD out of the damage caused to the community was recovered.

It was earlier informed that within the initiated criminal case data had been obtained on apparent abuses.

On the base of the obtained sufficient evidence charge was pressed against the former head of Ejmiatsin community according to the Point 1 of the Part 3 of the Article 38-179 (3 counts), the Points 1 and 3 of the Part 2 of the Article 38-179 (2 counts), the Points 1 of the Part 2 of the Article 38-179 and the Points 1 and 3 of the Part 2 of the Article 179 of RA Criminal Code.

Charge was pressed against the director of “Improvement” budgetary facility according to the Point 1 of the Part 3 of the Article 179 (2 counts) and the Point 1 of the Part 2 of the Article 179 of RA Criminal Code. Charge was pressed against the former chief of “Housing and Utilities Department” budgetary facility according to the Point 1 of the Part 3 of the Article 179 and the Points 1 and 3 of the Part 2 of the Article 179 of RA Criminal Code (2 counts). Signature not to leave was chosen as a pretrial measure against them.   

During preliminary investigation about 26.000.000 AMD out of the damage caused to the state was recovered 23.250.000 of which was transferred to the deposit account of the RA Investigative Committee. 2.750.000 AMD, which is a business tax not paid since 2013 by business entities, was transferred to the community budget.  

Preliminary investigation is ongoing.

Investigation is conducted to find out the whole volume of the damage caused, to clarify the frame of those having committed the alleged crime, to personalize the actions of each of them and to give appropriate criminal legal assessment.
