A criminal case was initiated in the Investigative Division of Ajapnyak and Davtashen administrative districts of Yerevan Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee on banditry by using a weapon and willful destruction of somebody’s property on Ashtarak highway.
 

On February 7 a call was received in “911” service informing that a car “Niva” near “Red Cross” was on fire, there was an injured. A little later a report was received from “Armenia” medical center informing that A. Aleqsanyan, born in 1982, with “brain concussion in question and soft issue injuries on head” turned to them for medical aid. The latter told that he had sustained the injury on Ashtarak highway before Vahagni district.

In the result of taken measures it was found that on February 7, 2016 at about 19:00 Aleqsanyan was driving on Ashtarak highway in “Vaz 2121” which belonged to an LLC and getting to Vahagni district noticed a light signal to stop coming from a car “Opel Astra” so he stopped the car on the right side of the road.
 

Two strangers approached A. Aleqsanyan and at knifepoint demanded money, threatened him and when they were told that A. Aleqsnayan had no money struck him on the head.

As a result A. Aleqsanyan lost consciousness and a while later after regaining consciousness he noticed that his car had been burnt and the strangers had escaped. 

A criminal case was initiated in the Investigative Division of Ajapnyak and Davtashen administrative districts of Yerevan Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee according to the Points 1 and 4 of the Part 2 of the Article 175 (banditry with an item used as a weapon with prior agreement by a group of persons) and the Point 1 of the Part 2 of the Article 185 of RA Criminal Code (willful destruction or spoilage of somebody’s property by arson).

Forensic examinations were commissioned to find circumstances significant for the case.

The relevant subdivisions of the Police were tasked to take measures to find the persons having committed the apparent crime and bring them to the investigative body.

Note; Everyone charged with alleged crime offence shall be presumed innocent until proved guilty according to law.
