Banditry committed against 73 year-old woman in Gyumri revealed

In the result of investigatory actions conducted in the framework of the criminal case investigated in Shirak Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee banditry committed against 73 year-old woman on February 7 was revealed.

On February 7 at 09:25 a call was received from “Gyumri” medical center informing that the resident V. Suqiasyan with bleeding wound on the head, brain concussion and blunt trauma on the chest was taken to the medical center.

According to initial data after cleaning the snow in front of her lodge V. Suqiasyan tried to enter the lodge but at that moment a masked person, using violence against her, illegally entered the lodge, stabbed the 73 year-old woman on the left part of her head, kicked her on the chest, stole money in significant amount and escaped.

A criminal case was initiated in Shirak Regional Investigative Department according to the Points 3, 4 of the Part 2 of the Article 175 of RA Criminal Code.

In the result of operatively taken measures the person having committed the apparent crime was identified. He was arrested.

Preliminary investigation is ongoing.

Note; Everyone charged with alleged crime offence shall be presumed innocent until proved guilty according to law.
