Investigation is conducted in Shengavit Investigative Division of Yerevan Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee to find out circumstances of banditry committed against 30 year-old woman, infliction of heavy bodily damage to her. Charge was pressed against two persons.

On January 2, 2019 at about 21:00 a call was received in the Police from “Erebuni” medical center informing that 30 year-old resident of Yerevan with “cut-pierced wound on the right part of the abdomen, numerous cut-pierced wounds on the chest” was taken to medical center. According to the reference received from medical center the woman was unconscious and was not able to give explanations.

A criminal case was initiated in Shengavit Investigative Division of Yerevan Investigative Department according to the Part 1 of the Article 112 of RA Criminal Code. 30 year-old woman was found the injured party.

In the result of investigatory and other procedural actions conducted within the criminal case a number of circumstances – the scene, the motive were found out, the persons having committed the alleged crime were identified; they are residents of Yerevan, born in 1999 and 1979.

Pursuant to preliminary investigation data, with the purpose of swindling somebody else’s property those having committed the alleged crime reaching prior agreement on banditry, on January 2, 2019 at about 19:00 went to “Nairit” factory in a taxi, approached 30 year-old woman, under the pretext of having sexual intercourse with her reached agreement and got into the latter’s car and went to one of the hotels of Yerevan.

Through preliminary investigation data were obtained on the allegation that they used violence against the woman.

Particularly, it was found out that on the way – in the car 39 year-old man pulled the woman from the neck with a rope that was with him and 19 year-old young man stabbed the woman on the abdomen causing bodily injuries at the same time demanding her car. 39 year-old man who was at the back seat of the car hit the woman on the head with a gun handle.

Then pulling the woman from the front seat they moved her to the back seat during which 19 year-old young man stabbed the woman a few times on her back.

On the way when they stopped under the red traffic light 30 year-old woman opened the car door and threw herself out. The persons having committed the alleged crime drove away.

On January 4, 2019 a criminal case was also initiated according to the Point 3 of the Part 3 of the Article 175 and the Part 1 of the Article 235 of RA Criminal Code. The investigator made a decision to join the mentioned criminal cases in one proceeding.

In the result of investigatory and operative-intelligence measures those having committed the alleged crime were identified and brought to the investigative body.

On the base of the obtained sufficient evidence charge was pressed against 19 year-old and 39 year-old men according to the Point 3 of the Part 3 of the Article 175 and the Part 1 of the Article 235 of RA Criminal Code.

The investigator submitted a motion to court to use detention as a pretrial measure against them. It was sufficed.

Preliminary investigation is ongoing. Necessary investigatory and other procedural actions are conducted to find out all circumstances of the case.

Note; Everyone charged with alleged crime offence shall be presumed innocent until proved guilty according to law.
