Charge Pressed for Capturing Money in Large Amount by Assault from “Converse Bank” CJSC Branch
In the framework of the criminal case investigated in the Investigative Division of Kentron and Nork-Marash administrative districts of Yerevan Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee charge was pressed for capturing money in large amount by assault from a branch of “Converse Bank” CJSC.
As we have already informed, on October 9, 2017 at about 11:00 the person having committed the alleged crime demanded and captured money in particularly large amount by threat presented to the branch manager in written form to use violence dangerous for the latter's life that is to explode the branch.
In the result of measures taken within the criminal case the way of fleeing from the scene was found out, actual data were obtained on 4 people’s involvement in the assault, their actions were personalized.
Pursuant to data obtained through investigation the people having committed the alleged crime had reached a prior agreement on capturing money in particularly large amount by assault from «Sayat-Nova» branch of «Converse Bank» CJSC operating in Sayat-Nova Street, Yerevan, they also planned their roles.
According to their plan, on October 5 one of the group members went to the mentioned branch of the bank and told the manager about his intention to exchange 60.000 Euros to USD and achieved a prior agreement. On October 9 another young man went to the bank manager under the pretext of making the mentioned deal, offered to make the deal in the cashier’s work room for security reasons where he submitted a written threat to explode the bank if he was not given the money available in the safe. Then he captured the money in particularly large amount 42.709.000 AMD, 105.223 USD, 27.325 Euros, 439.800 RF Rubbles and 205 Pounds and fled.
In the result of investigatory and operative-searching measures taken within the criminal case the people having committed the alleged crime were identified. On October 17, 2017 charge was pressed against three of them – A. Grigoryan, D. Grigoryan and M. Galstyan for supporting the assault, search was declared against the fourth – P. Tsigankov charged with committing the assault. The latter was found in the Republic of Georgia, was taken to Armenia, as prescribed by law, and was brought to the investigative body.
On the base of the obtained evidence on July 12 charge was pressed against him according to the Point 1 of the Part 3 of the Article 175 of RA Criminal Code. Detention was chosen as a pretrial measure against him.
Preliminary investigation is ongoing.
