In the result of investigatory and operative-searching measures of great volume taken in the framework of the criminal case investigated in General Department of Investigation of Particularly Important Cases of the RA Investigative Committee murder of two people committed in Gyumri on May 17 was disclosed; charge was pressed against a man, born in 1997.

On May 17 at 17:15 a call was received from Gyumri medical center informing that two people's bodies with firearm injuries were taken to medical center.

In the result of taken measures the victims were identified; they are cousins, born in 1981 and 1985. A criminal case was initiated in the IC Shirak Regional Investigative Department preliminary investigation of which is conducted in the RA IC General Department of Investigation of Particularly Important Cases.

In the result of urgent measures a number of circumstances of the case, the motive of murder were found out, actual data were obtained on the person having committed the alleged crime; he is a resident of Gyumri, born in 1997, and search was declared.

Pursuant to initial data, the young men sustained firearm injuries incompatible with life on May 17 at about 17:00 during the quarrel in Ghukasyan Street of Gyumri.

It was found out that the quarrel started at about 15:30 in Teryan Street of Gyumri in which the brother of one of the victims and the resident of Gyumri, born in 1997, were involved. During the quarrel the latter beat the brother of one of the victims. Later the parties met in Ghukasyan Street to make clarifications on what had happened during which the young man, born in 1997, fired shots from a pistol towards the brother of the young man who had been beaten by him and his cousin. They died of firearm injuries they had sustained.

The 21 year-old young man wanted within the criminal case turned himself, handed the pistol of “Kalashnikov” model charged with cartridges. Charge was pressed against him according to the Points 1, 6 of the Part 2 of the Article 104 of RA Criminal Code and the Part 1 of the Article 235 of RA Criminal Code. He was questioned, detention was chosen as a pretrial measure against him.

Forensic medical, forensic genetic, complex forensic material, forensic ballistic, forensic trace, forensic biological and forensic medical, forensic chemical and forensic fingerprint examinations were commissioned.

Preliminary investigation of the criminal case is ongoing. Investigation is conducted to provide the comprehensive investigation of circumstances of the case, to verify the circumstances mentioned by the defendant.
