In the result of investigatory actions conducted in the framework of the criminal case investigated in the Investigative Division of Kentron and Norq-Marash administrative districts of the RA Investigative Committee A. Vardanyan, charged with murder attempt against G. Satumyan in the center of Yerevan, was found.

On January 21, 2016 a call was received from the university hospital N 1 after M. Heratsi informing that G. Satumyan with bodily injuries was taken to hospital.

A criminal case was initiated in the Investigative Division of Kentron and Norq-Marash administrative districts of the RA Investigative Committee according to the Part 1 of the Article 112 of RA Criminal Code (willful infliction of heavy damage to health).

In the result of investigatory actions conducted in the framework of investigation it was found that G. Satumyan had been stabbed for numerous times by A. Vardanyan out of hooliganism, who, according to investigation data, went on striking the injured on his head after he had fallen to the ground. Noticing other men, who were approaching to help, A. Vardanyan escaped.

On January 22, 2016 a decision was made to involve A. Vardanyan as a defendant according to the Point 10 of the Part 2 of the Article 34-104 of RA Criminal Code. On the same day search was declared against him.

In the result of investigatory actions conducted in the framework of the criminal case on January 23 A. Vardanyan has been found. He has been charged with murder attempt out of hooliganism.

Preliminary investigation is ongoing.
