A criminal case was initiated in the Investigative Division of Arabkir administrative district of Yerevan Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee on stabbing foreign citizens.

On the late evening of May 31, 2017 a call was received informing that two foreign citizens with cut-pierced bodily injuries were taken to medical center. Cut-pierced penetrating wound on the back surface of the chest, right-sided pneumothorax was diagnosed at 23 year-old citizen of Iraq, 5 cut-pierced wounds on the left arm, left shoulder was diagnosed at the other.   

A criminal case was initiated in the Investigative Division of Arabkir administrative district of Yerevan Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee according to the Part 1 of the Article 112 and the Article 117 of RA Criminal Code, an investigatory group was formed. Two citizens of Iraq were found the injured party.  

In the result of urgent investigatory and operative-searching measures the crime site, the motive were found, the person having committed the apparent crime was identified. Pursuant to initial data, the foreign citizens sustained the bodily injuries on May 31 at about 21:00 during the argument with one of their countrymen in one of the flats of Yerevan. The mentioned countryman escaped from the site.

A decision was made to arrest the suspect and the relevant subdivisions of the police were tasked to take measures to find and bring him to the investigative body.

Preliminary investigation is ongoing.
