A criminal case was initiated in the Investigative Division of Avan and Nor Nork administrative districts of Yerevan Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee on banditry committed at the area of “Yerevan City” supermarket.

On July 21, 2018 a call was received informing that a masked and armed person committed capturing from currency exchange center operating at the area of “Yerevan City” supermarket in Avan. The investigatory-operative group immediately left for the scene.

Pursuant to initial data, on July 21 at about 03:40 the person with a medical mask, armed with a pistol entered “Yerevan City” supermarket at 24/7, H. Hovhannisyan, Yerevan and pointing the pistol towards the employees of currency exchange center and cigarette sale store demanded to give him the money that was at the currency exchange center threatening to use violence dangerous for their life and health. Capturing money in large amount in several currencies the person having committed the alleged crime fled.

On July 21, 2018 a criminal case was initiated in the RA IC Investigative Division of Avan and Nor Nork administrative districts of Yerevan Investigative Department according to the Points 2 and 4 of the Part 2 of the Article 175 and the Part 1 of the Article 235 of RA Criminal Code. An investigatory plan has been worked out and investigatory and operative-searching measures of great volume are taken to disclose the crime.

Note; Everyone charged with alleged crime offence shall be presumed innocent until proved guilty according to law.
