A criminal case was initiated in the Investigative Division of Kentron and Nork-Marash administrative districts of Yerevan Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee on explosion that took place in “Burger King” food center located 5 Northern Avenue, Yerevan.

On the evening of April 2, 2018 a call was received informing that an explosion took place in “Burger King” food center located at 5 Northern Avenue. As a result, 8 citizens with bodily injuries were taken to medical center.

The investigatory-operative group immediately left for the site, inspection of the site was conducted.

A criminal case was initiated in the RA IC Investigative Division of Kentron and Nork-Marash administrative districts of Yerevan Investigative Department according to the Point 2 of the Part 2 of the Article 279 of RA Criminal Code, an investigatory group was formed, an investigatory plan was worked out, videos captured by security cameras located in the food center were confiscated.

8 people were found the injured party. Forensic medical, explosive technical, construction technical and merchandise examinations were commissioned to find circumstances significant for the criminal case.

Preliminary investigation is ongoing. Additional information about the results will be provided.
