Within the framework of the criminal proceeding initiated in the Division of Investigation of Grave Crimes of Yerevan Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee according to the Part 2 of the Article 357 and the Part 2 of the Article 358 of RA Criminal Code urgent procedural and investigative actions are conducted to find out all circumstances of the explosion that has taken place in “Surmalu” trade center.

It should be added that as a result of the explosion that took place on August 14, 2022 at about 13:30 in “Surmalu” trade center located in Arshakunyats Avenue of Yerevan, as of this moment, 7 persons have died and more than 50 persons have received bodily injuries of several gravities.

Pursuant to the received data, as a result of the explosion booths located at the area of the trade center as well as the buildings and cars parked nearby have also been damaged.

The investigative group is currently working at the scene, more than 20 citizens have been questioned, relevant examinations have been commissioned.

The employees and those performing activities at the area of the trade center are being identified, the inquest bodies have been assigned.

Preliminary investigation is ongoing.
