Investigation is conducted in the Investigative Division of Avan and Nor Nork administrative districts of Yerevan Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee to find out the circumstances of the explosion that took place in oxygen plant which belongs to «Saint Gregory the Illuminator» medical center.

On September 25, 2018 at 12:05 a call was received from «Saint Gregory the Illuminator» medical center in Nor Nork Division of Yerevan City Department of the RA Police informing that an oxygen cylinder exploded in hospital and a person died. On the same day at 12:20 a call was received from «Saint Gregory the Illuminator» medical center informing that an employee of the medical center with diagnosis of «polytrauma» was taken to them who told that the injury had been caused by the explosion of oxygen cylinder at the oxygen plant of «Saint Gregory the Illuminator» medical center.

The investigatory-operative group immediately left for the scene. Through inspection of the scene the body of the operator of oxygen plant was found on the floor of the oxygen plant of the same medical center operating behind the medical center.

A criminal case was initiated in the Investigative Division of Avan and Nor Nork administrative districts of Yerevan Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee according to the Part 2 of the Article 157 of RA Criminal Code.

Through inspection of the scene a number of samples were taken. Forensic examinations were commissioned to find out circumstances significant for the criminal case.

Preliminary investigation is ongoing.

Necessary investigatory actions are conducted to find out all circumstances of the case.

Note; Everyone charged with alleged crime offence shall be presumed innocent until proved guilty according to law.
