Measures are taken in the Investigative Division of Ajapnyak and Davtashen administrative districts of Yerevan Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee to find circumstances of murder of 32 year-old resident of Yerevan.

On August 7, 2017 at 14:30 a call was received informing that there was a body at the neighboring area of the road to “Haghartsin Monastery”.

A man’s body was found on the left part of the road to “Haghartsin Monastery” by the investigatory-operative group. On the neck of the body a sticky ribbon was wrapped.

In the result of taken measures it was found that the dead man was the resident of Yerevan, Samvel Geghamyan born in 1985 who, pursuant to his relatives’ statement, left home on July 31 and did not return.

Pursuant to medical certificate on death received on August 9, 2017 S. Geghamyan’s death was directly caused by mechanical suffocation.

A criminal case was initiated in the Investigative Division of Ajapnyak and Davtashen administrative districts of Yerevan Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee on S. Geghamyan’s murder according to the Part 1 of the Article 104 of RA Criminal Code.

Necessary investigatory and other procedural actions are conducted to provide comprehensive, complete and objective investigation of all circumstances of S. Geghamyan’s death, to find the person (persons) having committed the alleged crime.

Note; Everyone charged with alleged crime offence shall be presumed innocent until proved guilty according to law.
