Criminal cases initiated on incidents involving advocates joint in one proceeding

Investigation is conducted in the Investigative Division of Kentron and Norq-Marash administrative districts of Yerevan Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee to find the real circumstances of the incident involving advocates that took place on April 27; 2 criminal cases initiated on the incident were joint in one proceeding.

It was earlier informed that two initiated criminal cases were received in the Investigative Division of Kentron and Norq-Marash administrative districts of Yerevan Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee on beating T. Atanesyan, A. Soghomonyan, as well as S. Babayan, V. Khachikyan and A. Harutyunyan in advocate T. Atanesyan’s working-room.

The mentioned persons were found the injured party and were interrogated. Considering that through the criminal case sufficient evidence were obtained on the allegation that violence against T. Atanesyan, A. Soghomonyan, S. Babayan, V. Khachikyan and A. Harutyunyan was used at the same incident the investigator made a decision to join the two criminal cases initiated according to the Article 118 of RA Criminal Code in one proceeding.

In order to find the nature and gravity degree of the injuries inflicted to the injured forensic medical examinations were commissioned the results of which were received.

Taking mass media interest into consideration we inform that according to the experts injuries inflicted to two of the injured don’t contain elements of light damage to health, light damage was inflicted to one of them and damage of medium gravity was inflicted to the other.

Preliminary investigation of the criminal case is ongoing. Additional information on procedural decisions made on the base of the obtained evidence will be provided.

Note; Everyone charged with alleged crime offence shall be presumed innocent until proved guilty according to law.
