Criminal Prosecution Initiated against One more Person Charged with Placing Explosives at Several Addresses in Yerevan and Organizing Terrorism through Explosions; the Latter Wanted
Large-scale investigative actions are ongoing within the criminal proceeding investigated in General Department of Investigation of Crimes against the State, Fundamentals of the Constitutional Order and Public Security of the RA Investigative Committee to disclose the terrorism cases committed in Yerevan in February, 2024.
As it was earlier informed by the RA Investigative Committee, within the framework of the mentioned proceeding criminal prosecution had been initiated against 4 persons and detention was selected as a pretrial measure against him.
Through factual data obtained during investigation it was found out that besides G.S., the accused within the proceeding, and some persons not identified yet, 42 year-old G.V. also took part in the implementation of explosion in the yard of the house 143/1 in Noy district, Yerevan, as well as organizing to place explosive devices at 33, G. Gyulbenkyan and the office of the «Civil Contract» party located at 30/3 Gyulbenkyan, Yerevan.
Besides, factual data were also obtained on the allegation that in order to terrorize the population, as well as its separate group, in particular the members of the "Civil Contract" party, their supporters, to disrupt the activities of public authorities, to force public authorities, among them Hayk Sargsyan, representative of public authorities and public servant, Deputy of the RA National Assembly, member of «Civil Contract» party, and Nairi Sargsyan, the former assistant to the RA Prime Minister to abstain from specific political statements and political positions, the latter together with non-identified persons, organized the explosions at the car oiling station located on N.Zaryan Street, Yerevan, owned by the father of Hayk and Nairi Sargsyans, combined with the risk of depriving civilians of life, causing serious damage to their health, as well as spoiling property in large amount.
On the base of the obtained factual data a motion was submitted to the prosecutor to initiate a criminal proceeding against G.V. for committing crimes envisaged by the Part 1 of the Article 46-308 of RA Criminal Code (3 counts). The motion was sufficed.
Detention was chosen as a pretrial measure against him and search was declared.
