Forensic psychiatric examination commissioned within criminal case on Professor R. Poghosyan's death

Necessary investigatory and other procedural actions are ongoing in the framework of the criminal case investigated in the Investigative Division of Kentron and Norq-Marash administrative districts of Yerevan Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee on death of the scientific head of «Ayg» psychological center, Professor Ruben Poghosyan to find all circumstances of the case. Forensic psychiatric examination was commissioned.  

On the base of the evidence obtained through the criminal case charge was pressed against H. Hambardzumyan, born in 1983, according to the Points 2 and 14 of the Part 2 of the Article 112 of RA Criminal Code. Detention was chosen as a pretrial measure against him.

Forensic psychiatric stationary examination was commissioned to find a number of circumstances significant for the criminal case, particularly the mental condition of the accused, including at the moment of committing the incriminated action.

Conduction of the examination was tasked to the commission of stationary forensic psychiatric examinations of “Nubarashen Psychiatric Center” CJSC.  

It was earlier informed that on July 17, 2017 at about 14:45 a call was received from Yerevan University hospital N 1 informing that the resident of Yerevan, a psychologist in a psychological center Ruben Poghosyan, born in 1947, was taken to hospital with “cut wound on the face, numerous cut wounds, bleeding”.

Through the criminal case actual data were obtained on the allegation that bodily injuries had been inflicted to R. Poghosyan in his work room by one of his visitors, born in 1983.

Preliminary investigation is ongoing.
