Necessary investigatory actions are conducted in the Investigative Division of Kentron and Norq-Marash administrative districts of Yerevan Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee to find the circumstances of death of psychologist, Professor Ruben Poghosyan.

On July 17, 2017 at about 14:45 a call was received from Yerevan University hospital N 1 informing that the resident of Yerevan, a psychologist in a psychological center Ruben Poghosyan, born in 1947, was taken to hospital with “cut wound on the face, numerous cut wounds, bleeding”.

During preparation of materials it was found that bodily injuries had been inflicted to R. Poghosyan in his work room with a sharp cutting item by one of his visitors.

A criminal case was initiated in RA Police according to the Point 2 of the Part 2 of the Article 113 of RA Criminal Code which on July 20  was received in the proceeding of the Investigative Division of Kentron and Norq-Marash administrative districts of Yerevan Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee.  

On the same day the university hospital informed that R. Pohgosyan died in hospital. Forensic medical examination was commissioned to find the cause of his death.

The relevant subdivisions of the police were tasked to find the person having committed the alleged crime and bring him to the investigative body.

Necessary investigatory and other procedural actions are conducted to provide the comprehensive, complete and objective investigation of the circumstances of the case.

Note; Everyone charged with alleged crime offence shall be presumed innocent until proved guilty according to law.
