In the result of investigatory actions of great volume conducted within the criminal case investigated in General Department of Investigation of Particularly Important Cases of the RA Investigative Committee significant circumstances of the armed incident that took place in Karbi community – the motive, the frame of those involved were found out.

It was earlier informed that on May 27, 2018 at about 22:30 at the area near municipality building in the community of Karbi of Aragatsotn region a row erupted between a group of people which turned into brawl, a firearm, cutting-piercing item and blackjacks were used.

A criminal case was initiated in Aragatsotn Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee preliminary investigation of which went on in the RA IC Department of Investigation of Crimes against Humanity of General Department of Investigation of Particularly Important Cases.

Pursuant to preliminary investigation data, the row erupted between a group of young men because of driving fast; first, the fellow-villager made a remark to the driver for driving fast then hit the car with a bottle. The parties’ friends intervened in the quarrel which turned into brawl, stabbing, shots were fired. During the incident 6 people sustained bodily injuries of different gravities; 2 of them – heavy, 2 – medium, 2 – light damages.

Through investigation the frame of those involved was found out, the actions of each of them were personalized, the rifle which was the crime tool was found and confiscated.

On the base of the evidence obtained during pretrial proceeding charge was pressed against 6 persons, 5 of them are residents of Karbi, 1 – a resident of Yerevan.

Charge was pressed against 44 year-old man for infliction of heavy bodily damage in a way dangerous for many people’s life and for illegal procurement and keeping of weapon and ammunition according to the Point 5 of the Part 2 of the Article 112 and the Part 1 of the Article 235 of RA Criminal Code. Charge was pressed against 33 year-old resident of Yerevan for hooliganism committed with an item used as a weapon and stabbing one person according to the Part 1 of the Article 112 and the Part 4 of the Article 258 of RA Criminal Code. Charge was pressed against one person according to the Part 4 of the Article 258 of RA Criminal Code for hooliganism committed with an item used as a weapon. Charge was pressed against three more persons according to the Point 1 of the Part 3 of the Article 258 of RA Criminal Code for hooliganism by a group of persons.

Preliminary investigation was completed and the criminal case with the bill of indictment was sent to court.

Note; Everyone charged with alleged crime offence shall be presumed innocent until proved guilty according to law.
