Information about RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s Interrogation in RA IC General Department of Investigation of Particularly Important Cases

The criminal case initiated on committing acts envisaged by the Part 1 of the Article 309 of RA Criminal Code – apparent abuse of official authorities committed by officials mentioned in audio recordings of wiretapping the phone conversations between the RA Prime Minister N. Pashinyan and ex-Director of the RA National Security Service A. Vanetsyan, as well as the Chief of the RA Special Investigatory Service S. Khachatryan and ex-Director of the RA National Security Service A. Vanetsyan disseminated on the internet on September 11 and December 5, 2018 is being investigated in the proceeding of General Department of Investigation of Particularly Important Cases of the RA Investigative Committee. The circumstance of interference in administration of justice against judges who had investigated the motions on detention of Robert Kocharyan and Yuri Khachaturov is also a subject of investigation within the mentioned criminal case.   

RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan arrived in General Department of Investigation of Particularly Important Cases of the RA Investigative Committee and was questioned as a witness within the mentioned criminal case to find out circumstances of possible influence on judges.

The criminal case initiated on illegal wiretapping the phone conversations between ex-Director of the RA National Security Service and Chief of the RA Special Investigatory Service according to the Part 1 of the Article 146, the Point 4 of the Part 3 of the Article 254 of RA Criminal Code is also being investigated in General Department of Investigation of Particularly Important Cases of the RA Investigative Committee. Within the mentioned criminal case Nikol Pashinyan was questioned as affected party to find out circumstances of violation of his rights and legal interests caused by illegal wiretapping and audio recording and its dissemination on the internet, as well as other circumstances significant for the criminal case.

Both interrogations lasted 2 hours 35 minutes, in total.
