In the result of necessary investigatory and other procedural actions conducted in Shirak Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee murder committed against the resident of Gyumri town was disclosed, the latter's son was arrested.

On June 19, 2019 a call was received from «Ambulance Station of Gyumri» CJSC informing that in one of the houses of Ghukasyan Street of Gyumri the body of the resident of the same house was found.

Pursuant to initial data, on the evening of June 19, 2019 the resident’s daughter and the latter's husband, breaking the lock of the woman's house, born in 1948, went in and noticed the woman's body with injuries on her face.

A criminal case was initiated in Shirak Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee according to the Part 1 of the Article 104 of RA Criminal Code.

In the result of necessary measures taken within the criminal case the person having committed the alleged crime was identified; he is the victim's son, born in 1969. It was also found out that the latter was registered in «Mental Health Center» of Gyumri with a diagnosis of «Schizophrenia paranoid form stable defect».

50 year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murdering his mother.

Preliminary investigation is ongoing.
