In the result of comprehensive investigation conducted in the framework of the criminal case investigated in Kotayk Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee on murder of two residents of Hrazdan one more murder committed in 2013 was revealed.  

It was earlier informed that pursuant to factual data obtained through the criminal case on two persons’ murder, murder of the residents of Hrazdan town Varduhi Simonyan and Samvel Alikhanyan had been committed out of mercenary motives by 32 year-old resident of the same town in his paternal house.

Through preliminary investigation it was grounded that on the evening of September 18, 2017 the person having committed the alleged crime drove the victims to his paternal house in the car of «Opel Astra» make used by him, there he beat them and demanded money. Being refused the 32 year-old man strangled Samvel Alikhanyan with a metal wire then hit Varduhi Simonyan on her head with a metal weight killing her.

In order to conceal the traces of grave crime the bodies were wrapped with polyethylene film and sticky ribbon and were taken in the car to the field at the right side of the 51t km of Yerevan-Sevan road where a hole was dug and the bodies were concealed.

Through investigation the persons, who had helped to carry the bodies, were identified.  

A number of people were interrogated, search was conducted during which in 32 year-old man’s house 4 bullets of “Toz” type and a capsule were found and confiscated.

On the base of the obtained sufficient evidence charge was pressed against 32 year-old resident of Hrazdan according to the Points 1 and 8 of the Part 2 of the Article 104 and the Part 1 of the Article 235 of RA Criminal Code, detention was chosen as a pretrial measure against him. Charge was pressed against one more person for concealing the crime according to the Part 1 of the Article 334 of RA Criminal Code.

In the result of investigatory and other procedural actions of great volume conducted in the framework of the criminal case Mamikon Asatryan’s murder committed in Yerevan 4 years ago – in January, 2013 was revealed. The criminal case on the mentioned case was initiated on January 18, 2013 in Arabkir Investigative Division of the Police according to the Part 1 of the Article 104 of RA Criminal Code. However the proceeding of the criminal case was suspended because the person subject to be involved as a defendant was unknown.

In the result of comprehensive investigation conducted in the RA IC Kotayq Regional Investigative Department evidence were obtained on the allegation that Samvel Alikhanyan murdered in September 2017 had been directly involved in M. Asatryan’s murder for appropriate remuneration.

The suspended proceeding restarted and conditioned by factual circumstances was combined with the criminal case on murder of two residents of Hrazdan investigated in Kotayq Regional Investigative Department. In the result of investigatory actions of great volume conducted by the investigatory group, data were obtained on the allegation that M. Asatryan's murder had been ordered and organized by the latter's wife who was arrested on December 12 on suspicion of committing a crime envisaged by the Point 8 of the Part 2 of the Article 104 of RA Criminal Code and was interrogated.

Preliminary investigation is ongoing, active investigatory and operative-intelligence actions are conducted to provide the objective, comprehensive and complete investigation of all circumstances of the case.

Note; Everyone charged with alleged crime offence shall be presumed innocent until proved guilty according to law.
