In the result of investigatory and operative-searching actions of great volume conducted in the framework of the criminal case investigated in Kotayk Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee a number of circumstances of murder of two residents of Hrazdan Varduhi Simonyan and Samvel Alikhanyan, including murder site were found, two persons related to murder were identified.

It was earlier informed that in the result of searching measures taken in the framework of the criminal case investigated in the proceeding of Kotayk Regional Investigative Department on November 2, 2017 two bodies – a man and a woman’s bodies were found in the field near the gas station located at Yerevan-Sevan road. Pursuant to initial data, they are bodies of the residents of Hrazdan Varduhi Simonyan and Samvel Alikhanyan whose location had been unknown since September 18. Forensic medical, forensic genetic, micro particles examinations were commissioned.

During preliminary investigation recognition was conducted and based on the clothes, teeth and several orientation data the relatives told that they were bodies of Varduhi Simonyan and Samvel Alikhanyan.

It was earlier informed that on September 20 and October 6 reports were received from V. Simonyan and S. Alikhanyan’s relatives informing that they had had no news from their relatives since September 18. Through investigation it was found that they knew each other, they were last seen together. The criminal cases initiated on the case of two residents’ missing were joint in one proceeding, investigatory and operative-searching actions of great volume were conducted to find them.

In the result of joint actions carried out together with operative-searching bodies to verify the working hypotheses worked out during preliminary investigation actual data were obtained on the allegation that the residents of Hrazdan had become a victim of murder. They were killed in Hrazdan town in the house of the resident of the same town after which the bodies were taken and hidden in the field near the gas station located at Yerevan-Sevan road where their bodies were found on November 2. Searches were conducted in the house which was the murder site, in the flat in Yerevan rented by one of those related to murder and in the car in the result of which a number of evidence were obtained.  

On the base of the obtained evidence appropriate legal assessment will be given to the actions of those related to murder of two residents of Hrazdan.

The Chairman of the RA Investigative Committee Aghvan Hovsepyan assessed highly the collaborative work on disclosure of two persons’ murder stating that disclosure of a number of circumstances of grave crime is the result of active exchange of information obtained in the result of investigatory and operative work, as well as activities worked out and carried out jointly.

The Head of the RA IC Kotayk Regional Investigative Department Mher Vardanyan, Deputy Head Artur Avetisyan, a number of investigators of the same investigative department, as well as the First Deputy Head of the Police adjunct to the RA Government, General-Lieutenant of the Police Hunan Poghosyan, Head of Kotayk Regional Police Department Roman Kirakosyan, Head of Hrazdan Division Karen Grigoryan, Deputy Head of Hrazdan Division of Police in operative work were awarded medals and certificates for professional work they had displayed.
