In the result of measures taken in the framework of the criminal case investigated in Shirak Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee circumstances of murder of mother and son Sirik Hakobyan and Sargis Hakobyan were found, the person having committed the apparent crime was identified.
 

On June 20, 2016 at 15:20 a call was received informing that Sargis Hakobyan, who lives in the district “Fountains” of Gyumri, and his mother do not respond and their cabin smells unpleasant.
 

Through inspection of the site in the cabin 228/268, Gyumri the bodies of the residents of the same cabin Sirik Hakobyan, born in 1936, and Sargis Hakobyan, born in 1960, were found.
 

It was found that mother and son’s death was caused by violence used against them. Particularly, Sirik Hakobyan and Sargis Hakobyan’s death was caused by acute disturbance of vital functions of brain caused by close blunt craniocerebral injury. Besides the mentioned injuries, fractures of the left 5-6^th ribs were found at S. Hakobyan.
 

A criminal case was initiated in Shirak Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee according to the Point 1 of the Part 2 of the Article 104 of RA Criminal Code. An investigatory plan was worked out, working hypotheses were put forward and necessary investigatory and procedural actions were conducted to verify them.
 

In the result of investigatory and operative-intelligence actions of great volume conducted in the framework of the criminal case the motive of the crime was found, the person having committed the apparent crime was identified.  
 

Through investigation it was found that on June 16 Hakobyans hosted their old acquaintance G. Khachanyan who spent the night in their cabin. Next day they had dinner together and used alcoholic drink. Mother and son Hakobyans, G. Khachanyan and the latter’s girl-friend were present at dinner. A row erupted on personal matters between S. Hakobyan and G. Khachanyan which turned into brawl during which bodily injuries incompatible with life were inflicted to Hakobyans by G. Khachanyan.
 

G. Khachanyan was arrested on suspicion of murder and was interrogated. Investigation is conducted to verify the circumstances mentioned by the suspect. Examinations were commissioned to find circumstances significant for the criminal case.  
 

Note; Everyone charged with alleged crime offence shall be presumed innocent until proved guilty according to law.
