Preliminary investigation of the criminal case initiated on getting illegal payment by the employee of Meghri Territorial Agency of Social Assistance was completed in Syunik Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee. Charge was pressed against two persons.

Pursuant to data obtained through investigation the chief specialist of Meghri Territorial Agency of Social Assistance of Syunik provincial administration, holding the mentioned position from November, 2006 to October, 2018, having authorities of paying home visits, studying social and material conditions of those persons who had turned for social assistance, presenting offer to provide social assistance, to assess the needs of those getting social assistance, to process the applications submitted by citizens as prescribed by law, got illegal payment from beneficiaries for doing actions within her authorities in favor of them.

Particularly, the chief specialist of Meghri Territorial Agency, born in 1969, got illegal payment from residents of Meghri community for registering the documents submitted to get benefit on time, for presenting offer to provide social assistance while registering the data necessary to calculate the social insecurity unit of the family. Through investigation it was also found out that 50 year-old woman also got illegal payment from the resident of Yerevan for not doing actions in her favor within her authorities, particularly without paying home visits she did not register that the family of the resident of Yerevan did not live in the house located in the community of Meghri though they were registered in the mentioned house and did not stop the benefit.

On the base of the obtained sufficient evidence charge was pressed against the chief specialist of Meghri Territorial Agency according to the Part 1 of the Article 311.1 (5 counts). Charge was pressed against the resident of Yerevan according to the Part 1 of the Article 312.1 of RA Criminal Code. Signature not to leave was chosen as a pretrial measure against them. Charge was pressed against two more residents of Meghri according to the Part 1 of the Article 312.1, criminal prosecution against them was stopped based on the adoption of the amnesty act.

Preliminary investigation was completed and the criminal case with the bill of indictment was sent to court.

Note; Everyone charged with alleged crime offence shall be presumed innocent until proved guilty according to law.
