Preliminary investigation of the criminal case initiated on 76 year-old man’s murder completed

Preliminary investigation of the criminal case initiated on 76 year-old man’s murder was completed in Syuniq Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee. The criminal case on consideration of using compulsory medical measures against the victim’s wife was sent to court.
 

It was earlier informed that 76 year-old R. Hakobyan’s body with injuries on the head was found on the sofa in his house on November 29, 2015.  Through inspection of the site an axe and a hammer with blood-like traces were found from under the bed. Similar traces were found on woman’s slippers, as well.
 

Through preliminary investigation sufficient data were obtained on the allegation that the man had been struck on his head with an axe and a hammer by his wife. On the base of the obtained evidence charge was pressed against the woman according to the Part 1 of the Article 104 of RA Criminal Code.
 

During preliminary investigation it was found that the woman charged with murder had been registered in “Regional Psychiatric Dispensary of Syuniq” CJSC with diagnosis of “Schizophrenia, continuous process a paranoid form, emotional-volitional defect” since 1978. Forensic psychiatric examination was commissioned.
 

On the base of the obtained evidence the case on consideration of using compulsory medical measures against the woman was sent to the Court of First Instance of Syuniq.
 

Note; Everyone charged with alleged crime offence shall be presumed innocent until proved guilty according to law.
