A 76 year-old man’s body with injuries on the head found; victim’s wife arrested on suspicion of murder
A criminal case was initiated in Syuniq Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee on murder of 76 year-old man. In the result of measures taken in the framework of the criminal case on the same day the victim’s wife was arrested on suspicion of murder.
On November 29, 2015 at 15:30 a call was received informing that a man had been killed in Barabatum, Kapan.
The investigatory-operative group headed by the investigator of Syuniq Regional Investigative Department immediately left for the site. The body of the resident of Kapan, 76 year-old R. Hakobyan with injuries on the head was found on the sofa in his house.
A criminal case was initiated in Syuniq Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee according to the Part 1 of the Article 104 of RA Criminal Code (murder).
Through inspection of the site an axe and a hammer with blood-like traces were found from under the bed. Similar traces were found on woman’s slippers, as well. On the same day the victim’s 64 year-old wife was arrested on suspicion of murder. Through investigation it was found that the latter had been registered in “Regional Psychiatric Dispensary of Syuniq” CJSC since 1976.
Forensic medical, forensic biological examinations were commissioned to find circumstances significant for the criminal case.
Preliminary investigation is ongoing.
