Charge pressed against wife of 76 year-old man murdered in Kapan; she was detained
In the framework of the criminal case investigated in Syuniq Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee charge was pressed against 76 year-old murdered man’s wife.
76 year-old R. Hakobyan’s body with injuries on the head was found on the sofa in his house on November 29, 2015. Through inspection of the site an axe and a hammer with blood-like traces were found from under the bed. Similar traces were found on woman’s slippers, as well.
On the base of the obtained evidence R. Hakobyan’s 64 year-old wife was charged according to the Part 1 of the Article 104 of RA Criminal Code (murder). On the same day the investigator submitted a motion to the Court of First Instance of Syuniq to use detention as a pretrial measure against him. The motion was sufficed.
Taking into consideration that the woman accused of murder had been registered in “Regional Psychiatric Dispensary of Syuniq” CJSC since 1976, forensic psychiatric examination was commissioned.
Preliminary investigation is ongoing.
